WELCOME TO THE WEBSITE OF AUTHOR MYRA SHERMAN
Myra Sherman began writing in 2000, and published her first short story in 2006. Since then her fiction and essays have appeared in numerous print and web journals. Her novel, Mother Mary, is available from The Medulla Review Publishing. Her short story collection is available from Desperanto Press. In her non-writing life she received a Masters in Social Welfare from The University of California, Berkeley and is a licensed clinical social worker in California. She has worked as the Director of Mental Health in a San Francisco Bay area county jail, and as a therapist specializing in patients at risk for suicide, homeless substance abusers and mentally disordered sex offenders. Her writing is inspired by her clinical work and gives voice to the marginalized and forgotten. After living in Israel and upstate New York, Myra currently divides her time between Berkeley and Lake County, California.
